You've made a number of really great points here, but you've entirely ignored the fact that Israel is and began as a colonialist state. Immigration was the main source of demographic growth during the British Mandate; the Jewish population in Palestine prior to these waves of immigration may have cohabited with Palestinians peacefully, but when overwhelmed by mass expulsion, appropriation of culture, denial of human rights and gross inequities, it should be expected, and quite honestly encouraged, that the indigenous population strives to defend its own rights. Palestinians are grieving the loss of the a home they've known for centuries - not to the hands of their neighbours, but to those who have fought to exile them.
