Such important points, Charles! I think a lot of people forget the politics of power and privilege that play into the lived experience of being imprisoned. Poverty and systemic abuse shift a person's entire reality from the realm of possibility to questions of survival. And it always seems to be the people who have never lived a day in need of anything that pass judgments like the ones you've listed here.

I'm so glad you've able to build a career that you enjoy, and also that you continually choose to support others so that they might experience the same. It's really encouraging!
