Maybe it counts as uncomfortability, but I'm personally often hesitant about what I say on the issue because I know that, as a consequence of my privilege, I can never fully understand the experiences, tensions and traumas lived by people of colour. In the process of trying to understand and dismantle my own privilege, my instinct has always been to tiptoe because I am constantly reminded that I understand less than I could and inevitably less than I should. I'd love to hear more about how you prefer white people participate in discussions and the process of dismantling racism.
