Really great article, Debbie! I have family members still steadfastly denying climate change, and these are all really great suggestions. My partner has helped me realize that using an emotional hook doesn't always work with everyone, at least if you're not certain of the things that really matter most to them. For some people in my sphere of influence, it is actually seems more effective to speak in analytical and economical terms. This doesn't always translate to a change in belief, but it can still encourage more climate-conscious behaviour on grounds that they acknowledge and accept. Finding common ground is so important, and just like Sarah mentioned, so is patience.
